Can You Hear the Horses? Cause Here They Come

Spring has hit with full force- I've still seen the occasional down jacket among foreign exchange students or people from California, but for the most part coats are a thing of the past! It's officially sweater-weather a.k.a the best weather of the year.
I've now had all of my classes and I'm a little wary because this quarter I have more writing intensive courses than I've had thus far (I've had more lecture style or math type classes), and I haven't written a critical essay since the AP Lit test last May (not including Spanish last quarter, which doesn't really count). Anyway, I've put on my best studious face and am aiming high for the finish of my freshman year.
Definition studious in a blazer... right? Lawl. It was a windy day also, hence the hair being everywhere.
Also please note the stupid thing they added on my door. I arrived back from spring break to find the door was 10 times heavier. Luckily my friend Lukas is a doll/engineer and took it off its hinges. Hooray!

It was BE-A-U-tiful today, although the only time I spent outside was walking to and from classes. Too busy watching Monk. And practicing for perf sem. Kind of.

Back to the Grindstone

Hello all,

So yesterday marked the end of spring break, and my return from Sanibel to Evanston; needless to say, it was rough. The only thing that made it okay was the premiere of Mad Men last night. We dressed up. It was awesome. Today started bright and early at 7:30, but I was finished with classes for the day by 12:30,  'twas nice. Tomorrow is the first day of the rest of my classes and then we're off and running for the quarter. Bombs away!

Success!

Done with finals and mere hours until my flight to Sanibel! I cannot wait to be in Florida, and to see the fam. Dying of excitement. To kill the time until the cab comes to pick us up at 5:15, I shall be doing the following: trying on clothes, packing, running to CVS to get travel-sized things, unplugging the fridge, unplugging everything else, probably watching tv, and having a dance party in the dingle.
This is what I've done so far, so I have my work cut out for me! Go team! Also, the people underneath me on the 3rd floor are playing really loud techno with a lot of bass... at noon... hhuhhh?

Ah Finals

You are the bane of my existence. Why it is so impossible for me to study for my ONE final on Thursday is beyond me. Seriously, last year I was taking basically 5 college course plus an independent study and elective and I managed to study for all my classes then- what about actually going to college has changed this? I think I'm having trouble today because there's not enough pressure... I keep thinking "Oh, I have all of tomorrow to study. Let's go on collegecandy, stalk people on Facebook, and play bubbleshooter instead." At least I have the excuse to stress eat, sort of. Bad life decisions are being made on this end.
Spring break, come to meeee.

Sorry for Party-Rockin'

Pictures from this weekend! Such a gorgeous day.

Makin some new friends... a whole sorority's worth

We're tourists at the Bean.

After dinner- we never got a full group picture which I'm a little bummed about but here's 3/7 of us.

Phew

Busy, busy weekend, but SO much fun. I am now officially 19 years old... not a super exciting age but that's fine. We spent basically the whole weekend in Chicago, walking, shopping, and eating. I went on my first power shopping spree in months, which was very necessary to blow off some steam right before finals. We hit Michigan Avenue (Nordstrom Rack, H&M, Forever 21) on Saturday and Wicker Park on Sunday, staying overnight at the Westin (SO AMAZING). I ate copious amounts of Italian food for dinner and got a much needed Caribou Coffee, because face it, Starbucks is just not as good. My spoils are as such: red BCBG dress, BCBG paperbag-waisted skit, navy blazer, peplum polka dot shirt, red polka dot dress (wearing this for the Mad Men premiere- March 25th could not come sooner), high-waisted denim shorts, black cross body bag, navy duster sweater, light pink high-low skirt, burgundy crop sweater- all for less than $250. Hopefully pictures to come, my friend Hillary was the photographer of the trip.

Now today has been less exciting, as I have had to start studying for my final on Thursday... yuck. Hit up norbucks and now heading to the slounge (study lounge). Gross. But wearing my new sweater!

Also: from last week, channeling my inner desire to be a ballerina. Got lazy and forgot to post.

And so it Begins

Birthday Weekend is upon us! Tomorrow is the big day, and to start off the festivities, this morning we heading to the ORIGINAL original pancake house in Wilmette for some delicious apple pancake.
Could not be more excited for leftovers- legitimately one of the most delicious foods in the entire world. And we had a nice walk from the el station to the restaurant so everything cancels out, right? Right.
Tomorrow commences the real activities: downtown Chicago overnight plus many activities throughout the day. SO excited.

Spring is in the Air

Sorry I suck and forgot to post yesterday, it was gorgeous again (a little windier) and I spent most of the day lounging in various places because I am officially done with winter quarter!... minus one final next Thursday but that is a whole week away! I frolicked around in jeans and a crop top, and was so so happy because I could finally break out my favorite Minnetonka Moccasins again.
They have character, okay? And are kind of weirdly colored in this photo... I promise, they are brown and not aqua. Anyway, it's time for Burrito Lunch, a Thursday tradition of this quarter. ONE WEEK TO SPRING BREAK!

Holy 65° Batman!

It was ridiculously warm for a Chicago day in March, let me tell you. I enjoyed my first encounter with the lakefill today post enjoying sleeping in until 1:30 pm. Holler being done with classes.
Awkward because of the wind, but just ignore that. Like, I didn't even bring another coat today. This is madness! And apparently it's supposed to be similar tomorrow.
I spent this evening cooking vats upon vats of Kraft Mac n' Cheese for our new member philanthropy event raising money for Supplies for Dreams. Left at midnight and it's still going until 2 am- rough times for the people who are there 5 hours straight. Anyway it was sups successful, as of while I was there, so hurray! Now I have to write a 3-page reflection paper, about how my theatre tech class helped me to "grow as an artist," shoooo

Monday of Three Outfits

Yesterday was a pretty busy day. I had my last classes of the quarter, because I don't have any class on Tuesdays. The thing that's kinda the worst about the quarter system is that just as you're starting to get used to a class, it ends. But oh well.
Dis be what I wore to classes. I got out of my last class at 5, and Initiation started at 6 so I skidaddled on home and got dressed in my all whites, which my mom had to send me because who has white clothes in their wardrobe in the dead of winter? Not I.
Also, the Mad Men poster you can see in the background is my new pride and glory, I just received it as a late pledge mom gift. How handsome is Jon Hamm? The most handsome.
This is Maia, we went to the Stitch/Unity Fashion Show party last night for a little while; since we only knew a couple people it was kind of awks. But everybody was dressed well for once which is not always the case at college parties/life parties in general.

Lamplighting... and sloths

So tonight was our lamplighting ceremony before initiation (for sorority ish). It was fun to get dressed up for something, since I've basically been living in leggings and sweatshirts for the past week... or weeks.

On that note, my friend Maia and I have made a pact that we're actually going to have cute outfits every day this week and are not allowed to be lazy, so hopefully I'll have something else to post.

Also: SLOTHS. the most adorable.

Womp

Here's the basic story:
I like clothes. I'm a college student. I'm pretty busy. How do I make these things go together?
I'm hoping that this blog-type-thing can be a little window into my life, what I do, and what I wear while doing it. Kind of the usual, but hey, it's a good project; I don't think I'm ready to get sucked into Pinterest yet.

So here goes nothin' folks
